Born at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia on December 24, 1974, Ryan Seacrest is the son of a homemaker, Constance Marie, and a real estate lawyer, Gary Lee Seacrest. Even at an early age, he manifested his passion in hosting. He would always do shows in their house while holding a microphone. When he was only 16 years old, Seacrest won an internship at WSTR in Atlanta, where he learned majority of the aspects in radio. He was also given his first broadcasting experience in WSTR when he was called in to substitute as DJ in one of WSTR’s shows. He later went to college to pursue journalism while continuing his radio show. At the age of 19, he went to Hollywood to pursue his broadcasting career. The year 1993 saw the emergence of Ryan Seacrest as a television host. He hosted Radical Outdoor Challenge, Gladiators 2000, Wild Animal Games, Click, NBC Saturday Night Movie, and Ultimate Revenge but the most notable hosting gig that he has signed on was with American Idol. He has been hosting American Idol since 2002, earning $45 million on his first contract signing and $30 million in the renewal of the contract. In 2005, Seacrest also became an executive producer of the show Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve, where he held hosting duty at the same time.
