Leonard “Len” Blavatnik was born on June 14, 1957 in Odessa, Ukraine, back when Ukraine was still part of USSR. He was born to a Jewish family and he studied Railway Engineering in Moscow State University. After his family migrated to the United States of America in 1978, he completed his Masters in Computer Science from Columbia University. He later completed his MBA in 1989 from Harvard Business School. He is married to Emily Appelson Blavatnik and has four children. Len Blavatnik is the founder of Access Industries and has a net worth of $21.3 billion as of June 2015.

Len Blavatnik is a British businessman, philanthropist, and investor who made his fortune by investing in various companies around the globe. He founded Access Industries in 1986 and is also its chairman and president. The investment of this company goes to as far as Europe, South America, and North America. Blavatnik’s investments are diversified across various industries, including petrochemicals, coal, entertainment, telecommunications, and aluminum. In 2010, Blavatnik sued JPMorgan Chase for losing $100 million. He won the case and got $50 million back from JPMorgan Chase in 2013. On July 10, 2011, Access bought Warner Music Group for an estimated US $3.3 billion. Len Blavatnik also has investments in the world’s largest aluminum manufacturing company, UC Rusal, and is a board member of this big organization.
