Born as Judith Blum on October 21, 1942 in Brooklyn, New York, she is popularly known as the sharp and witty “Judge Judy.” She attended the Washington College of Law where she was the lone female in a class of 126 students. In 1965, she obtained her law degree at New York Law School, passed the bar examination in the same year, and thereafter, started building a career for herself. She served as a prosecutor in 1972, was appointed judge in 1982, and promoted as supervising judge in Manhattan in 1986. She met her first husband in 1964 and had two children with him but the marriage ended in 1976. She now lives with her second husband, Atty. Jerry Sheindlin. Best described as a no-nonsense attorney in her television show, Judge Judy has an estimated net worth of $250 million.

Judy Sheindlin’s courtroom tactics and style brought her fame and fortune. In 1993, she was featured in LA Times and on “60 Minutes.” In 1996, her TV show “Judge Judy” debuted and continues to be a top-rating regular series even until now, having approximately 10 million viewers a day. The show has indeed ruled daytime television with its 13 nominations in the Emmy Awards. It is not surprising that Judge Judy is in fact the highest paid TV personality, earning an annual income of $47 million. Thanks to her lucrative salary and her own production company, Queen Bee Productions, Judge Judy is considered one of the richest women in the world.
